About us
Sarki Tamang
Born in Nepal, Sarki
quickly found his love of the out-doors.
He was independent at a young age farming, lumberjacking,
portering and progressing to Surdar (trek leader) organizing
trekking/climbing routes. Sarki
married his English wife, Jayne, in Nepal in 1993 and has one son,
Arun. He & his new family
came to England 1994, where he worked for Glendales, Lancashire, as a
landscape gardener maintaining upkeep of parks and recreation areas. Sarki was then keen to learn new
skills with Kneps Farm Enterprises, Lancashire, making new caravan bases
& paths, turf & slab laying, Kabota tractor & digger driving
& fencing. He later moved to
Ambleside and attendended Myserscough College, Preston, to attain his
qualifications in Chain Saw & Related Operations, Climb Trees &
Perform Aerial Rescue, Use of Rope & Harness and is now fully
qualified to British Standard 3998 – CS30, 31a, 31b, 38 & 39. He was able to become self-employed
working for Longbow Forestry, felling, cross cutting planting & chain
sawing. He has furthered his
skills attending Drystone Walling & First Aid courses. Sarki is a
member of Free Spirit Taekwondo Association through which he has gained 4th
Dan in this martial art and currently runs his own club in Ambleside.
